The Town of Ajax is seeking to pre-qualify General Contractors who can demonstrate experience in providing all labour, equipment, products, fuel, services and materials necessary to complete the Fire Station No. 2 Renovation project, located within the Town of Ajax.

The summary of work consists of a major interior renovation of an existing Fire Station, scope of work includes, but is not limited to:

• Demolition of interior finishes and fixtures including doors, non-load and load bearing masonry partitions, millwork, ceiling and floor finishes and washroom/shower fixtures.
• Demolition of existing mechanical, plumbing and electrical services to suit the new layout.
• Installation of new non-load bearing steel stud framed gypsum board interior partitions, doors, new finishes and fixtures (flooring, walls, ceilings, washrooms and showers).
• Electrical work including switches and receptacles to suit the new floor layout as well as relocating existing LED lighting to suit the new floor layout.
• New mechanical work including HVAC, plumbing and a sanitary pump system. 
• The Fire Station will remain in full operation throughout the course of the work. 
• The Contractor will be responsible for supplying temporary accommodations on-site for the fire crew during construction (trailer’s on-site for sleeping, cooking, office work, etc.). 
• The apparatus bay will remain in use and access to the driveways must always be kept clear during construction.
• Work occurring within the apparatus bay will be coordinated with the fire crew. 
• A detailed site safety construction plan will be required to successfully carry out this work.
